I thought it might be interesting to start brainstorming, and gathering ideas regarding the restoration of the Little Blue House. There is a wealth of information online on this subject, and it is challenging to organize all of it.
To that end, I've started a board on Pinterest entitled, "Victorian Home Restoration."
You can visit the board at:
I have tried to put the "Pin It" button here on my blog, too, but I have obviously not figured it out correctly... I am figuring this stuff out as I go along.
I hope you like my bulletin board! I promise to write more here soon.
Just found your blog, and was wondering if you're using a general contractor you like or if there is one in northern BC that specializes in restoration that you know of? I'm just looking into buying and restoring a house from the 1920s that needs a lot of TLC. Good to know there is at least one other person out there going through the same thing!

Hi there,
DeleteWe are using a general contractor, one who was recommended to us by somebody we know. He has worked on a couple of restoration projects in Atlin, BC, and that is where he is based. He doesn't advertise himself as a restoration specialist, but it is nice to know that he has experience with restoring turn-of-the-century buildings! It is best to ask around to see what other old house owners have done in your area. That's what we did. I am looking forward to the project - we are going to chip away at it. Stay tuned to the blog for more details! I hope this is helpful. Have fun with your new (old) place!
